When you start looking for a wedding dress, you might be taken by surprise by just by how many options there are and you might even find yourself feeling a bit lost.
So how do you even start to look for the right dress?
The first step you need to take is to choose a silhouette.
Ball gown – without a shadow of a doubt one of the most popular wedding dress silhouettes of all times. Why is that, you may ask? This silhouette suits all body shapes. It emphasizes your waist and hides all the possible imperfections behind a puffy skirt. And after all – all of us want to feel like princesses at least once in our lives.
A-line – very similar to the Ball gown with all the same pros – such as emphasizing just the right parts of your body. A perfect choice if
you want something subtler than a puffy princess skirt.
Sheath – a silhouette brought to us by the Greek goddesses. The beauty of this silhouette is in its simplicity. A straight running line from your shoulders down to the floor brings attention to all the right body parts.
The next step is to choose a length of the dress.
You once again have few options – you can go for short, knee length, midi (tea length), long or high-low.
Midi length was highly popularized by Audrey Hepburn. Women all across the globe fell in love with this length of the dress, because it’s chic, elegant and sophisticated.
If you’re not sure, whether to go for a short or a long dress, you can always go for a high-low as a compromise.
The next step is to choose the sleeves type. You can choose from sleeveless to tiny cap sleeves, short sleeves, half sleeve, ¾ sleeve or a long sleeve.
What else can you do about sleeves? Well, what about having just one? This will create a very unique asymmetric look.
And finally – embellishments.
Even the simplest dress can be transformed by the right use of embellishments. May it be shiny rhinestones sprinkled all over the dress, a sophisticated pearls detail or floral lace appliques.
