Who should host a bridal shower?

In the past, only friends of the bride were able to throw a bridal shower, it was not considered appropriate for relatives to organize the event, but today the traditions have changed and it’s totally appropriate for your mom or sister to throw the shower if they’d like. Usually, the shower is hosted by the maid of honor or bridesmaids, and it’s common for several people to take on the organization and split the responsibilities and the cost.
