Traditional "body type" advice assumes off-the-rack sizing. With made-to-measure, the gown is cut to your 21 measurements and delivered within 2.5 cm (1 in) of them — so treat the suggestions below as starting points for the look you want, not rules you have to follow.
Hourglass (balanced bust and hips, defined waist)
You can wear almost anything, but the mermaid and trumpet silhouettes were practically designed for you — they celebrate your waist-to-hip ratio. A fitted A-line also looks beautifully balanced.
Pear (hips wider than bust)
A-line and ball gown silhouettes are your best friends — they define the waist and let the skirt skim the hips gracefully. Pair with a detailed neckline or sleeves to draw the eye upward.
Apple / round (fuller midsection)
An empire waist or a soft A-line that flows from just under the bust creates a long, elegant line. A V-neck or sweetheart neckline elongates the upper body beautifully.
Petite (5'3" and under)

Tall and statuesque

Plus size and curvy
