Choosing a corset wedding dress
Nearly every gown here has a corset bodice: boning shapes the waist and supports the bust, and nearly all of them list a built-in bra. Check “Dress fastening” on each gown: about a third lace up at the back, and most of the rest close with a zip, some with buttons over it.
Most corset gowns here are A-line, the easiest shape to sit and dance in; you will also find mermaid and ball gown corsets, lace bodices and long-sleeve or detachable-sleeve designs. The bodice is cut from your own bust, waist and bodice measurements, including the corset's front and back height, and our team checks them before production. Made to measure, the gown is delivered within 2.5 cm (1 in) of the measurements you order; a small local adjustment may still be needed.
Production takes 8–12 weeks for most gowns and 10–14 or 12–16 weeks for some; each gown's page shows its time. Delivery then takes 1–2 weeks. You can pay in full or in 3 interest-free installments, or reserve now and send your measurements within 30 days.
Corset wedding dresses with sleeves
Many corset gowns here have long sleeves: about half of those in sheer mesh or tulle, most with an illusion neckline, the others in lace, guipure, chiffon, organza, satin or crepe. The boned bodice carries most of the support, so the sleeves add coverage rather than hold the gown up; they are cut from your arm measurements.
Some gowns have detachable sleeves, which you can wear for the ceremony and take off for the reception.
Corset ball gowns and mermaid corset gowns
Most corset gowns here are A-line, but the corset suits fuller and more fitted shapes too. A corset ball gown pairs the boned bodice with a full skirt in mesh, tulle, organza, satin or lace, and some list a petticoat for extra volume.
A mermaid corset gown is fitted through the hips to the knee before it flares, in satin, mesh, tulle, crepe, lace or guipure; made to measure, the bodice and fitted skirt are cut from your own bust, waist and hip measurements.
Boned corset bodice or lace-up back?
They are two different things. The boned bodice is the corset itself: boning sewn into the bodice shapes the waist and supports the bust. The back is how the gown closes: many gowns here lace up, most of those over a zip, while others close with a zip alone or a zip with buttons. Check “Dress fastening” in each gown's details.
For a lace corset bodice, compare our lace wedding dresses: some corset gowns here are in Chantilly lace or lace with sequins.
Are corset wedding dresses comfortable?
A corset bodice feels firmer than an unstructured one, because the boning holds its shape; that structure also carries most of the support, so straps and sleeves do less of the work. How it feels depends mostly on accurate measurements: measure over the underwear you will wear on the day, and our team checks your measurements before production.
Is a lace-up back better than a zip?
Neither is better for every bride. A lace-up back allows a small adjustment on the day, while a zip is quicker to close and gives a smooth line. About a third of the gowns here lace up; check “Dress fastening” on each gown's page.
Can I get a corset wedding dress with sleeves?
Yes. This collection includes long-sleeve and detachable-sleeve designs. Some other gowns list sleeves as a paid upgrade on their page, with the price shown before you order; for anything else, ask us by chat, email or WhatsApp.
Do I need a bra with a corset wedding dress?
Nearly all gowns here list a built-in bra in their details; if yours does, a separate bra is usually not needed. If you are unsure about a gown, ask us by chat, email or WhatsApp before you order.
Do corset gowns work for plus-size brides?
Yes. Every gown here can be ordered made to measure at the same price as a standard size, so the corset is cut from your own bust, waist and hip measurements. Many corset gowns are also listed on our plus size wedding dresses page.
How is a corset measured for made to measure?
You enter 21 body measurements in our guided form, including your bust, waist and the corset's front and back height; the measuring guide shows where each one is taken. Measure over the underwear you will wear on the day, keep the tape level and snug, and ask someone to help. Our team checks your measurements before production. Made to measure, the gown is delivered within 2.5 cm (1 in) of the measurements you order; a small local adjustment may still be needed.
What is the difference between a corset, a bustier and a boned bodice?
A boned bodice is any bodice with boning sewn in to hold its shape. A corset bodice is a boned bodice made to shape the waist as well as support the bust. A bustier is a strapless boned top that supports the bust and usually stops at or above the waist, with less waist shaping. Check “Corset” in each gown's details.
