What a cap sleeve gives you
A cap sleeve covers the top of the shoulder and ends above the upper arm, without the length of a short sleeve or the gathered fullness of a flutter or puff sleeve. It gives a strapless or sleeveless bodice a little shoulder coverage while keeping the arms free, which many brides want for a church ceremony, for photographs or simply for comfort.
The gowns here come mostly in mesh, chiffon, satin, tulle, organza, guipure and lace; a lace or guipure cap reads as part of the bodice, while a mesh or tulle cap is almost sheer. Most of them are A-line, with some mermaid, ball gown and sheath designs, so compare the skirt as well as the sleeve when you shortlist.
Every gown is made to measure at the same price as a standard size, from the 21 measurements you send with our video guide, or you can reserve now and send your measurements within 30 days. Made to measure, the gown is delivered within 2.5 cm (1 in) of the measurements you order; a small local adjustment may still be needed. Production takes 8–12 weeks for most gowns and 10–14 or 12–16 weeks for some; each gown's page shows its time. Delivery then takes 1–2 weeks.
