Wedding Dress Size Chart & How to Measure
Quick answer: Choose your wedding dress size from your bust, waist and hip measurements, not the size you wear every day. Our standard sizes run from XS to 4XL (US 2–16, UK 6–20, EU 34–48). If your measurements fall in different sizes, or above 4XL, choose Made to Measure: the gown is made from your 21 measurements, at the same price.

Bust, waist and hip measurements by size
These are body measurements, not the measurements of the finished gown. Neighbouring sizes share a boundary: a measurement exactly on it belongs to the larger size.

How to choose your size
- Measure your bust at its fullest point, your natural waist and the widest part of your hips (numbers 3, 5 and 6 on the diagram).
- Find the column where each measurement falls in the table above.
- If all three fall in one column, that is your standard size. If they don't, the size for your largest measurement is the safer choice, because a gown can be taken in more easily than let out. Or choose Made to Measure and the gown is made to your measurements.
Why your wedding dress size can differ from your everyday size
Bridal size labels often don't match the sizes you buy on the high street, and they vary between countries and brands. Ignore the label you usually wear and go by your measurements: our chart starts from body measurements in centimetres, and every country's size is converted from them.
How to measure for a made-to-measure wedding dress
Made to Measure is the default on every gown. It uses 21 measurements, 17 required and 4 optional, which you enter in a guided form after choosing your gown. Our tailors check all measurements before production begins.
Where to measure: the numbers match the list below.
The 17 required measurements
- Neck Girth — Circumference around the base of the neck (Video guide)
- Upper Bust — Circumference above the bust line (Video guide)
- Medium Bust — Circumference at the fullest part of the bust (Video guide)
- Lower Bust — Circumference below the bust line (Video guide)
- Waist — Circumference at the natural waistline (Video guide)
- Hips — Circumference at the widest part of the hips (Video guide)
- Height — Full height without shoes (Video guide)
- Waist to Floor — Distance from natural waist to the floor (Video guide)
- Waist to Knee — Distance from natural waist to the knee (Video guide)
- Shoulder Span — Distance from shoulder edge to shoulder edge across the back (Video guide)
- Corset: Back Height — Height of the corset area on the back (Video guide)
- Front Corset Height — Height of the corset area on the front (Video guide)
- Bust Height — Distance from the shoulder to the bust point (Video guide)
- Corset Side — Height of the corset on the side (Video guide)
- Arm Girth — Circumference of the upper arm (Video guide)
- Sleeve Length — Length from shoulder to wrist (Video guide)
- Wrist Girth — Circumference of the wrist (Video guide)
The 4 optional measurements
- Shoulder Length — Length from neck base to shoulder edge (Video guide)
- Bust Span — Distance between the two bust points (Video guide)
- Back Span — Width of the back between the armholes (Video guide)
- Cup (Bra) Size — Standard bra cup size (A, B, C, D, etc.)
Tips for accurate measurements
- Wear the bra and shapewear you plan to wear under your gown, and measure over them, not over clothes.
- Stand straight and relaxed with your feet together, and breathe normally.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight, and level all the way round. Ask someone to help and check the tape in a mirror.
- Find your natural waist by bending to one side: the crease that forms is your waistline.
- Decide on your wedding shoes first: the form asks for your heel height as well as your height without shoes.
- Take each measurement twice, in one unit (centimetres or inches), and write it down straight away.
How precise is the fit?
Our Terms of Service (section 5.1) state:
We warrant that tailor-made Products will be delivered in the size and measurements specified in your order, subject to a measurement allowance of up to 2.5 cm (1 inch).
Because each gown is made for you, made-to-measure gowns can't be returned for a change of mind or an incorrect size (section 6.2). Standard sizes have a limited return option (section 6.3). Read the Terms of Service
Standard size or made to measure?
- Standard size
- Choose XS–4XL from the chart. A good fit when your bust, waist and hips all fall in the same column.
- Made to Measure
- The default on every gown, at the same price. The better choice if you are between sizes, above 4XL, petite or tall, or simply want the gown made to your body.

Size and fit questions
How do I find my wedding dress size?
Measure your bust at its fullest point, your natural waist and the widest part of your hips, then find the column in the chart where each one falls. If they fall in different sizes, choose the size for your largest measurement, or choose Made to Measure.
Do wedding dress sizes run small?
Bridal sizes often don't match everyday clothing sizes, so don't rely on the label you usually wear. Our chart starts from body measurements, so go by your bust, waist and hips.
What if I'm larger than 4XL (US 16)?
Our standard sizes stop at 4XL, a 108–112 cm (42½–44 in) bust. Above that, choose Made to Measure on the gown's page: it is made from your 21 measurements at the same price as a standard size.
Does made to measure cost extra?
No. Each gown has one price, whether you choose a standard size or Made to Measure, and your measurements don't change it. Optional paid upgrades are listed separately on each gown's page.
Can I order now and send my measurements later?
Yes. Choose Reserve & Measure Later on the gown's page to lock in your order, then send your measurements within 30 days. Our tailors check all measurements before production begins.
How long does a made-to-measure wedding dress take?
Production takes 8–16 weeks, depending on the gown, plus 1–2 weeks for delivery. Each gown's page shows its production time, so check it against your wedding date before ordering.
