Your dress, on your terms
There is no dress code for a bride who marries later in life, or for a second wedding. A full gown, lace sleeves or a short dress for the register office are all yours to choose. What often changes is the occasion: a civil ceremony, a smaller guest list or a daytime reception can call for a lighter dress, and comfort through a long day matters as much as the look.
This page gathers three kinds of dress, each with its own section below: gowns with sleeves or a covered neckline, simple gowns and sheaths, and short or tea-length dresses. The full list starts with gowns that belong to more than one group, such as a simple gown with sleeves or a short dress with a covered neckline.
Coverage is cut, not added on. Sleeves are made from your sleeve length, arm girth and wrist girth, and a high neckline from your neck girth, so a covered dress is cut to your arms and neck rather than to a standard size. Illusion necklines and sleeves cover in sheer mesh or tulle: they read as covered in photographs but are see-through up close. Nearly all of these gowns also list a built-in bra.
Colour, timing and ordering
White is not required, and it is not off limits either. Most of our gowns are milk or ivory, and some are off-white, nude or two-tone; each gown's page shows its colour.
Every dress is made to your 21 measurements at the same price as a standard size, and delivered within 2.5 cm (1 in) of them. With Reserve & Measure Later you can reserve a dress now and send your measurements within 30 days. Most of our gowns take 8–12 weeks to make, some 10–14 or 12–16 (shown on each page), and delivery takes 1–2 weeks; for a nearer date, express production from about 30 days order-to-door is possible on request, depending on the design and date. Ask us by chat, email or WhatsApp before you order: we reply within one business day.
What should a mature bride wear?
Whatever she loves. Some brides choose sleeves or a covered neckline for comfort and photographs, a simple gown or a sheath for a civil ceremony, or a short dress for a daytime celebration; this page groups all three. None of them is a rule.
Can I wear white for a second marriage?
Yes. White, milk and ivory are yours to wear at any wedding, first or second. If you would like colour instead, some gowns come in nude or two-tone shades, shown on each gown's page.
Do you have short wedding dresses for a civil ceremony?
Yes: the short and tea-length section on this page lists our dresses that end above or at the knee, or at mid-calf. Like every gown, they are made to your measurements.
How far ahead should I order?
Most of our gowns take 8–12 weeks to make, and some 10–14 or 12–16 (each gown's page shows its time), then 1–2 weeks for delivery, so ordering four to six months ahead leaves room. For a closer date, express production from about 30 days order-to-door is possible on request, depending on the design and date; ask us by chat, email or WhatsApp before you order.
